Psychiatric Evaluations

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation is used to diagnose emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental disorders. This evaluation consists of a clinical interview along with a review of any prior records provided. The goal of this evaluation is to gain a full understanding of one’s symptoms in order to determine a diagnosis and an individualized treatment plan.

Medication Management

Psychiatric medications are used to help treat the symptoms of mental health disorders. Prior to starting a medication, you will have completed a psychiatric diagnostic evaluation where information related to prior medication trials, family history, medical history, etc. was reviewed. Medication recommendations and options will be based on current, evidenced based practices. Education related to a medication’s actions, uses and side effects will be provided. Following the prescription of a medication, your psychiatrist will monitor your progress on a specific medication which would include monitoring for any potential side effects and necessary dosage adjustments. By doing so, this promotes the safe use of medications and helps patients achieve the best results from their medication.
